Crop Wash

 

Outbreaks of human diseases associated with the consumption of raw fresh fruits and vegetables have increased over the past decade. Fruits and vegetables can become contaminated with micro-organisms capable of causing human disease while still on the plant in the fields or orchards, during harvesting, transport, processing and distribution.

The AgriPure system achieved a 3.5 log reduction of micro-organisms. The use of chlorine in conjunction with the AgriPure system will achieve additional reduction of micro-organisms.

Water from the wash tank is circulated through the system and ionized. The copper ions adhere to the fruit or vegetable reducing micro-organisms and provide additional protection from disease transmission during shipping. Users have reported extended shelf life of fruits and vegetables.
